Seven bids were received to install artificial field turf at all three schools, with the lowest bid coming in at about $1.4 million. The issue remains divisive due to potential health risks associated with synthetic fill used in some of the fields, but a safer, more organic option was deemed cost prohibitive, the Northern Westchester Examiner said.
