A rollover crash of a tractor-trailer carrying thousands of gallons of diesel fuel and gasoline in Northern Westchester caused a lengthy road closure on Route 116.

The crash took place around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday on Route 116, also known as Titicus Road, in North Salem, leaking some of the diesel fuel it was carrying, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.

Route 116 was closed between Oakridge Road and Delancey Road for approximately 12 hours in order for the fuel spill cleanup and for officials with the Department of Environmental Protection to respond.

Hicks said motorists should expect a "significant" closure due to the spill. No injuries were reported.
