Kieran Moran of Pleasantville was one of thousands of runners who completed the Boston Marathon before two explosions halted the race Monday. Moran, the lone Pleasantville entry, ran the marathon in a time of 3:05.44.

A new book by Pleasantville native Stephen Apkon that includes a foreword by Hollywood director Martin Scorsese was published Tuesday. It is called "The Age of the Image: Redefining Literacy in a World of Screens."

Mount Pleasant police searched for a man who unsuccessfully attempted to rob the Hudson Valley Bank on Marble Avenue on Monday afternoon. The man passed a note to a teller asking for money with no dye packs, police said. The teller did not comply, and the man left without any money, police said.
