The nominee should be a woman between ages 21 and 30 who has participated in Girl Scouting for at least three years and has distinguished herself as an exceptional leader in her profession or current volunteer capacity. The nominee needs to have held a leadership position for a minimum of one year either in her professional, community or volunteer role.

Evidence of the nominee’s Girl Scout participation also must be provided. Qualifying information includes troop number, Girl Scout troop leader’s name and town of the troop as well as years served.

The award will be presented during a luncheon honoring community partners on March 13.

Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl Scouts more than 102 years ago to develop girls into leaders.

“We are excited about our new Juliette Gordon Low Leadership Award,” said Pamela I. Anderson, CEO. “We know that once a Girl Scout, always a Girl Scout, and we want to honor the young alumnae who go on to do amazing things. It is also a great way for our young alumnae to reconnect with Girl Scouts and become part of the 59 million women who are alumnae across the country and throughout the world. We want to get as many nominations as we can from young women who fit the criteria.”

The deadline for nominations is Friday, Jan. 16.
