PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Fran Von Dietsch of Douglas Elliman Real Estate goes the extra mile for children all the time. On Sunday, she’ll do so at the Go The Distance Walk and Family Fun Day to benefit Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center.
Von Dietsch will be working at the Giving House booth at Sunday's event, which raises money for children with the most critical health care issues. She has been a longtime supporter of Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and donates 10 percent of her commissions to the hospital.
The former nurse has been a 36-year resident of Pleasantville. The Giving House is a group of top real estate professionals and firms who donate a portion of their commissions to worthy nonprofits and charitable causes.
Sunday’s walk is the ninth annual event. Many community groups come out to support the hospital, and the fun includes children’s activities, interactive games, a disc jockey and a dancer.
Jaimie Ferretti of Mahopac is the grand marshal for the parade. The third-grader at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School in Yorktown has made a full recovery after undergoing surgery last year to remove at brain tumor at Maria Fareri.
