The foundation is the charitable arm of the Westchester County Bar Association.
Known as the Westchester practitioner’s “go to” law professor, according to the WCBF, Carlisle was honored for his dedication to the charitable mission of the foundation and the Westchester legal community. The WCBF Fellowship Program selects, places, and funds the salary of young public interest lawyers with local charitable organizations. The benefit raised more than $40,000 for the program.
Carlisle was appointed chairperson of the Temporary Commission on Local Government Ethics by Gov. Mario Cuomo and to the Select Committee on Cameras in the Courts by Gov. George Pataki. He has been cited by state and federal courts throughout the country. As a director and past vice president of the foundation, he helped establish the selection process for its fellows and their host organizations.
