Ex-Pleasantville Engineer, DiRuocco Dies at 82

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - Eileen DiRuocco, a former Pleasantville resident, died Feb. 16 in Concord, N.H. She was 82.

DiRuocco was a former member of the Pleasantville Garden Club and Scuba Sports Club. She also served as an elder of the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church.

She was born in 1929 in Remsenberg, N.Y. DiRuocco attended high school in Eastport, N.Y. and graduated from the State University of New York, Brooklyn campus in 1950. Also a former resident of Ossining, DiRuocco was a retired civil engineer. She volunteered with Beneath the Sea, a scuba and dive travel show.

Surviving are her sisters Sybil Bath of Lake Placid, N.Y. and Susanne Ketner of Altoona, Penn., her daughters Barbara (Steve) Simmons of Ashland, Ohio and Bianca DiRuocco and her husband Alan Benoit of Concord, N.H. and two grandsons.

Visiting hours are from 1 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Beecher Funeral Home in Pleasantville. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Pleasantville Presbyterian Church, followed by burial at Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, N.Y.
