Wall sits are great way to strengthen the legs without the need for machines. Stand with your back to the wall and then slide down as though you are sitting; just without the chair. “Sit” for 60 seconds with your thighs parallel to the ground or until you can’t take it anymore.
L sits are another great lower-body exercise; sit with your legs out straight in front of you and your palms on the ground beside you. Lift your body up with your sheer strength and then hold for 5 seconds.

Another dip-style exercise you can do only requires a desk, bench or something to put your hands on. Sit with your back to the surface and place your hands atop it. Then push up your body from behind as you straighten your legs as much as possible.
One of the worst things when it’s too rainy or hot out is the inability to go out riding. However, you can ride a bicycle in the comfort of your own living room by just lying on the ground, elevating your legs, cradling your head with your palms and bringing your right elbow to your left knee and so on.
All of the exercises above use nothing more than gravity and body weight. So next time your schedule keeps you out of the gym, spend 15 minutes doing one of these exercises and feel the burn!
