The club invites the community at large to visit the club, free of charge, to see the club’s facilities and enjoy some light refreshments. The club will offer lessons and other activities at no cost. The centerpiece of the day’s activities will be the club’s new court, designed for children ages 10 and younger.
“The 10-and-under court, which we believe is the first such court in the Northeast built to USTA specifications, will enable young children to experience the joys of our sport. The smaller court, along with specialized balls and smaller rackets, will allow young children to achieve success on the court. We are very excited about this addition,” said Tom May, vice president of PTC.
The club also offers six regulation-size Har-Tru courts for adults. PTC is a member-run and member-owned club devoted strictly to tennis. It has programs for children ages 4-5 and 5-16. There is a camp for 4- to 7-year-olds and 8- to 17-year-old. The club has 10 separate teams (four men's, five women's and one junior) for different levels of skill. Included in this is a senior team for men. The club was founded in 1928.
