The Oct. 29, 2011, storm damaged trees, power lines and at least one home in the Pelham area. A homeowner reported that a tree owned by the village had fallen on her house.

Three second-floor windows and a first-floor window were damaged, along with the archway near the front door. The tree also created damage marks on the west side of the home. A small tree in the yard of the home was also damaged, the woman told the Pelham police.

Across Westchester, the wet, heavy snow knocked out power for about 58,000 customers, Consolidated Edison reported. For some people, the power was out for days.

In Pelham, many trees suffered damage from the storm. "The heavy, wet snow and the wind, that combination was just devastating," Margaret Falk, who lives in Scarsdale.

This year, as Hurricane Sandy approaches, Christine Orefice hopes the power stays on. "I hope we don't lose power again," she said Thursday on The Pelham Daily Voice Facebook page.

Westchester residents Sherry Webster compared last year's snowstorm with this year's possible rainstorm.  "Now its gonna be a rain storm," she said on the page.
