Multiple Black Bear Sightings Reported In Westchester Multiple sightings of a black bear were reported Saturday in Northern Westchester near the Putnam border. The Yorktown Police Department received the reports of a black bear along the Route 202 (Crompond Road) corridor near BJ's, Lexington Avenue, Sylvan Glen Park Preserve, the Yorktown Paw Park and Stony Street. There is no indication that the bear is sick or injured, Yorktown Police said.  Yorktown police officers and the Yorktown Animal Control Officer responded.
