Latimer Celebrates Section 1 Semifinal Basketball Tipoff County Executive George Latimer celebrated the tipoff of the Section 1 Semifinals Basketball Playoff games at the Westchester County Center in White Plains on Tuesday night, Feb. 20.\ Latimer attended the Class C contest between third seed Tuckahoe High School and No. 2 seed Haldane High School. Haldane prevailed in overtime by the score of 63-54. After weeks of negotiations, Latimer brokered a deal to keep the Section 1 Tournament Semifinals at the County Center.

Nearly $17,000 has been raised in just two days on behalf of Julianna Carraturo, a former Tuckahoe High School student attending SUNY Cortland committed suicide last month after allegedly being bullied by fellow students.
