32-Year-Old Area Woman Killed In Crash Was Miss Pakistan World
A 32-year-old area woman who died in a single-vehicle crash in Maryland was Miss Pakistan World in 2012.
Rockland County resident Zanib Naveed, of Pomona, was killed around 11:40 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 1, in Prince George's County on Route 1, said the Maryland State Police.
According to police, Naveed was driving a 2018 Mercedes CL2 eastbound on the Inter-County Connector, when she went around a curve, hit a curb and overturned into oncoming traffic, state police said.
Naveed, the only person in the vehicle, was ejected into the roadway, state police said.

Driver Leaves Scene After Boat Crashes Into Utility Pole In Westchester, Police Say
A dump your boat and run crash closed Saw Mill River Road in Ardsley for several hours.
The crash took place around 7:48 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, when a boat being towed by a U-Haul box truck broke loose and smashed into a utility pole, said Ardsley Police Lt. Carl Calabrese.
The driver left the scene, but witnesses were able to tell police that the boat was being towed by the U-Haul truck, Calabrese said.
The driver, or the truck, has not been located, yet, he added.
Saw Mill River Road was closed between Revolutionary Road and Secor Road for several hours while repairs were made.

Two Students Injured After School Bus Is Rear-Ended In Westchester
Two students were injured after the school bus they were riding in was rear-ended.
The crash took place in Somers around 8 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, when a Royal Coach school minibus/van and a car collided near the corner of Route 202 and Miller Avenue, said New York State Police.
The only children on the bus were the two students, whose injuries were described as minor, when the incident occurred at a stop sign at the intersection, said Amanda Bergen, a spokeswoman for the Somers school district.

A motorist in Northern Westchester attempting to avoid being in a crash went through a guardrail, took to the air, and plunged nearly 75 feet near the edge of the Croton Dam and Croton River.
First responders from Croton-on-Hudson, Ossining, and Westchester County Police received reports of a crash at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, near the entrance of Croton Gorge Park.
