Popular Educator From Westchester Dies At Age 68 A beloved educator from Northern Westchester who worked in Connecticut known for her dedication to her family has died.  Edna Rose Ventarola of Ossining died on Monday, Nov. 14 at the age of 68, according to her obituary.  Ventarola was born in 1954 and raised in the Bronx, graduating from Lehman College, her obituary said.  Pursuing a career in early childhood education, Ventarola served as the director of Creative Playtime in Scarsdale and also directed the Head Start program in Port Chester, according to her obituary.  Ventarola also later served as s…

Mamaroneck Resident Known As 'Devoted Family Man, Friend' Dies At Age 41 A Westchester County resident who was known as a devoted father, husband, and friend has died at the age of 41. Enda Corcoran, of Mamaroneck, died on Friday, Sept. 9, according to his obituary.  He was born to Marie Brophy and the late John Corcoran in Tullamore, Ireland, and eventually found his way to Riverdale, New York, his obituary said. Metro-North May Raise Parking Fees At Some Stations Parking may be getting a bit costlier for Metro-North riders. The MTA is reviewing a proposal to increase fees at 25 station parking facilities that are controlled by the railroad. It would impact riders east of the Hudson River, including the Harlem, Hudson and New Haven lines. Permit holders for 16-hour parking would pay an average of $42.75 annually, approximately 12 cents a day. Customers who use daily meters will pay an average of $14.17 more monthly, with the meters increasing by 50 to 75 cents for 16-hour parking.
