Woman Dies After Falling From High Floor Of Palisades Center Mall
This story has been updated. A woman has died after falling from a "high" floor of a mall in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place around 12:30 p.m., Thursday, May 6, in Rockland County at the Palisades Center Mall, in West Nyack, said Clarkstown Police Officer Norman Peters. Police are still on the scene investigating the incident. It is not known if the woman fell or jumped from the fourth-floor area. This is a developing story. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

A 26-year-old man was indicted on the charge of second-degree attempted murder after allegedly threatening to shoot two women, assaulting them physically, and nearly running them over with his car while in possession of a loaded firearm and marijuana. A 26-year-old unidentified man who allegedly assaulted two women at the Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack was nabbed with a loaded weapon and marijuana when captured by police. The incident began around 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 18., when the Clarkstown Police Department responded to parking lot B (Northside A-frame) of the mall for the report of an attack, said Clarkstown Police Officer Norman Peters. One person was killed during a two-vehicle crash at the Palisades Center Mall. It happened around 1:15 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9, on Palisades Center Drive at the mall in West Nyack, said Clarkstown Police Department spokesman Officer Norman Peters. The Lord & Taylor store in the Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack will close its doors after the holiday season, making it the second large retailer to exit the shopping mecca. The once behemoth luxury retailer has served shoppers at Palisades Center since 1998. The retailer’s departure follows J.C. Penney’s closure in June 2017.
