Dutchess County resident Noah Michael Thompson, age 17, of Amenia, died Friday, Feb. 10, at Sharon Hospital in Litchfield County, Connecticut, after falling through the ice at the Taconic State Park in the village of Millerton, located in the Town of North East.  Noah was a high school student at Webutuck High School in Amenia and was expecting to graduate this spring, according to his obituary. Fake $100 Bills Being Distributed At Businesses In Hudson Valley Community, Authorities Say Authorities issued an alert about counterfeit money that has been distributed to businesses in the Hudson Valley. The Village of Millerton Police Department in Dutchess County made the announcement on Tuesday, Aug. 23. So far, police found that counterfeit $100 bills have been distributed to businesses in the Millerton area. Authorities asked anyone who has received counterfeit money to call the Millerton Police Department at 518-789-6355.

Luis Ixim-Coc, 21, was located and arrested by members of the Dutchess Count Sheriff’s Office’s Special Operations Division on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at an apartment in the Village of Millerton. Ixim-Coc was wanted on a warrant from Fairfield County Superior Court in Connecticut, and on felony sexual assault charges out of the town of Danbur , said Captain John Watterson.
