Westchester County Association Will Merge With Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp Two of the area’s leading business advocacy organizations will soon become one, following the announcement of a major merger between the Westchester County Association and the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp.The deal, announced on Tuesday, Jan. 29, will center on strengthening the economy in the Hudson Valley. The new organization - which has not been given a designated name - is expected to take effect later this year. Westchester Will Get $800K In Economic Development Grants The New York State Regional Economic Development Council has officially awarded Westchester County with almost $800,000 in grants to be used primarily for three major projects: Restoration of the Playland Carousel Updating the Bronx River Watershed Management Plan Westchester-Putnam Workforce Development Board The grants will allocate $450,000 to the restoration of the Playland Carousel, which was completed in 1928 and damaged in a fire in the summer of 2017.
