Husband, Wife Die After Falling Through Ice In Sullivan County A husband and wife died while on a fishing trip after falling through thin ice in the region. The incident took place in Sullivan County around 8:15 p.m., Monday, Feb. 27 in the hamlet of Loch Sheldrake. Law enforcement officials became aware when the couple's daughter called the police that day from New York City expressing concern that she could not get in touch with her parents, Viktor Nikitin, age 63, and Svetlana Nikitin, age 70, both of Loch Sheldrake, said Undersheriff Eric Chaboty of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office. Area Murder Victim Was A Musician Who Enjoyed Hiking, Fishing A visitation is planned for an area musician and tattoo artist who was murdered earlier this week in the region. Sullivan County resident Michael A. Hankins, age 29, of Woodridge, was killed on Tuesday, Jan. 11 in Shawangunk in Ulster County, said the New York State Police. Walter D. Dozens Of Malnourished Goats Seized From Hudson Valley Farm Twenty-seven goats and a calf were within days of death when found by Hudson Valley SPCA officials on an Orange County farm after receiving a complaint.  The goats were discovered after Gene Hecht, chief of the Hudson Valley SPCA’s Humane Law Enforcement Division, applied for a warrant to raid the farm in the Town of Goshen after investigating. "They had no food, no water and were so emaciated they were less than three days away from death," Hecht said. Police have identified the person shot to death by a 19-year-old man Sunday in a Hudson Valley apartment complex.  Lawrence Burns, 19, of Brooklyn, was found dead around  3:37 a.m. Sunday, by members of the Village of Monticello Police Department and New York State Police, while responding to a 911 call reporting a body on the ground, said Monticello Police  Lt.
