A 35-year-old man from New York will spend decades in prison for enticing a teenage boy to engage in sexual activity with him at his Connecticut home, officials announced. NY Law Raising Legal Age To Purchase Tobacco Products Takes Effect
Older teenagers in New York will officially no longer be able to purchase tobacco or e-cigarette products. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the legislation into law on Tuesday, July 16 that raises the minimum sales age for tobacco and e-cigarette products from 18 to 21. The law took effect after 120 days, on Wednesday, Nov. 13. NY's First Vaping-Related Death Identified As 17-Year-Old Boy
A teenage boy has been identified as New York’s first vaping-related fatality. The death, involving a 17-year-old from the Bronx, was reported to the State Department of Health and announced on Tuesday, Oct. 8. According to the state health department, the boy was previously hospitalized in early September with a vaping-associated respiratory illness. He was re-admitted in late September and died on Friday, Oct. 4. Smoke Shop Owner Charged With Selling Product To 15-Year-Old In Westchester
The owner of a Northern Westchester smoke shop has been charged after selling merchandise to a 15-year-old, according to police. Bedford Police say they investigated a complaint from the parent of a 15-year-old juvenile on Tuesday, July 30. The parent alleged that their child purchased “Juul” mint nicotine and a package of CBD edibles from The Vape and Smoke Shop, located at 742 Bedford Road in Bedford Hills.
