John D. Zoidis, M.D., 63, of East Rutherford passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on March 29. John was born in Bronx, NY to John and Margaret (Barbato) and raised in Pelham Manor, NY. After graduating Pelham Memorial High School, John attended Fairfield University and St. George’s University School of Medicine (in Grenada). He previously lived in New Rochelle, NY and Fairfield, CT before moving to East Rutherford in 2013. Man Wanted For Fatal Shooting In New Rochelle Apprehended After Shootout
A manhunt into the fatal shooting of a cab driver in Westchester led to the arrest of a wanted fugitive who was wanted in Connecticut after a shootout with police, authorities announced. Shortly before 3 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 14, a New Rochelle police officer on patrol found a man, later identified as city resident Andres Valenzuela, on the ground in the parking lot of Juliano’s Caterer’s on Main Street with two apparent gunshot wounds. Police have identified the 62-year-old man who was shot and died after being found injured in a Westchester parking lot. Ex-Marine Dusty Rhodes, Owner New Rochelle Martial Arts School, Dies At 49
Westchester native and Pawling resident Dusty Rhodes, the owner of a martial arts school for more than 20 years, died on Tuesday, April 10 after battling cancer. He was 49. Dusty was born on May 16, 1968 in New Rochelle to the late Peter and Grace (Lofaro) Rhodes. He was a chef at Juliano's Caterers in New Rochelle for many years and was the proprietor of Rhodes Kajukenbo Karate & KajuPit NY MMA in New Rochelle since 1995.
