It's going to be a “bricktastic” day filled with fireworks, hotdogs, barbecues and Legos in the Hudson Valley.
Legoland New York will hold its grand opening in Orange County on Saturday, July 4, 2020 on Route 17 in Goshen. The park will include a theme park and hotel when it opens its gates next summer.

Brian Lienemann, a senior technologist in the area, died at age 47 on Sunday, July 7.
Lienemann, an Orange County resident who lived in Goshen, is survived by his wife, Meredith Lienemann (nee' Stiles); daughters, Catherine and Abigail, son Russell Stiles; grandparents, Gene and Margaret Lienemann, grandmother Kathleen Horton, mother Shirley Campbell, brother Curtis Lienemann and a large extended family filled with aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Steven E. Lienemann and brother, Adam Campbell.

An NYPD police officer from the Hudson Valley is facing charges for allegedly participating in a $1.5 million auto loan scam that targeted people attempting to boost their credit scores.
Eduardo Rodriguez, 41, of Goshen in Orange County, has been charged with conspiring to commit bank and loan fraud, as well as making false statements to federal law enforcement officers. He was arrested on Tuesday, July 2, and arraigned in Manhattan Federal Court.

These Hudson Valley Towns Rank Among Highest In State For Most Black Bears Taken In 2018
Hunters in the Hudson Valley were among the most proficient in taking bears, according to the DEC’s Black Bear Harvest summary.
During the 2018-2019 hunting season, New Yorkers hunted down 1,295 black bears statewide, a decrease of 125 from the previous year.
Of the bears that were hunted, 349 were killed by bow, 66 were killed by a muzzleloader and 11 were taken by youth hunters. In the Southern Zone, 804 bears were killed, 60 percent of which were male, and 491 bears were killed in the Northern Zone.
