Rita MacDonald Cooney, 90, a retired Briarcliff High School Teacher died peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 12, 2018 Born in Ossining on May 8, 1928. Cooney was raised in Ormond Beach, FL, and Creek Locks, NY. She was the daughter of William and Elizabeth MacDonald. A 1946 graduate of St. Paul’s High School (Daytona Beach, FL), Cooney graduated from the College of St. Rose (Albany, NY) in 1950. Update: The teenage girl who went missing in the Hudson Valley was located alive and well in Aurora, Colorado at the home of a relative, police said. Original report: A teenage girl has gone missing in the Hudson Valley and police are asking the public's help in finding her. The Ellenville Police Department in Ulster County issued an alert on Tuesday morning, July 3 related to the disappearance of 17-year-old Hallen M. Schafer. Three people were killed in an apparent murder/suicide at an apartment complex in Ellenville Thursday morning, according to Village Police Chief Philip Mattracion.
