Driver Killed After Car Crashes Off Ledge Near Mount Vernon East Station
The driver of a car that fell nearly 40 feet off a gated embankment near a train station in Westchester has died.The motorist, described as an elderly man, was driving a Toyota which veered off the road and through a fence late Saturday afternoon near the Mount Vernon East train station at the intersection of 1st Avenue and 1st Street. The man's name has not yet been released. The MTA and Mount Vernon Police Department are working jointly to investigate the incident. This is a developing story.
