Drunk Driving: Police In NY To Crack Down On Enforcement Through Thanksgiving Weekend
In order to protect New York residents during the week of Thanksgiving, authorities have announced that they will be cracking down on drunk and drugged drivers throughout the state. The enforcement initiative was announced by both New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and New York State Police on Tuesday, Nov. 21, and will run between Wednesday, Nov. 22 through Sunday, Nov. 26. A 41-year-old woman was slapped with drunk driving charges after driving the wrong way on I-84 throughout two counties in the Hudson Valley, striking a police cruiser in the process, authorities said. A 46-year-old man faces drunk driving charges after allegedly leaving the scene of a crash in Northern Westchester, police said.
