Storm Update: Tornado Watch Issued For These NY Counties As thunderstorms, some severe, sweep through the region, a Tornado Watch has now been issued for parts of New York. The watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 in the counties shown in yellow. In New York, those counties are: Sullivan Allegany Broome Catttaragugus Cayuga Chautauqua Chemung Chenango Cortland Delaware Livingston Madison Oneida Onondaga Ontario Oswego Otsego Schuyler Seneca Steuben Sullivan Tioga Tompkins Wayne  Yates The time frame for the most severe storms from the system began at 5 p.m. and will last through around 9 p.m. Saturday.
