A days-long search for a New York mother and her two children was unsuccessful after police say the woman jumped with them off Niagara Falls. State Police say that 33-year-old Chianti Means, Roman Rossman, age 9, and Mecca Means, 5 months old, crossed over the guardrail and went over the falls on Luna Island, which is attached to Goat Island, on Monday night, Oct. 28. "The investigation has determined that this incident was intentional in nature, though the circumstances remain under investigation," according to New York State Police. Natalie Gillis saw much of the world in her 34 years, most of it from the air. The pilot from Toronto, Canada died Monday morning, June 17, when her twin engine Piper plane crashed just moments after taking off from Albany International Airport. Gillis, the aircraft’s sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Colonie Police. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the NTSB. A major New York tech company founder who blasted into space with actor William Shatner last month was aboard a small plane that crashed in New Jersey, killing him and a local flight instructor, authorities confirmed Friday, Nov 12. Donald Rae Hackert died on Thursday, April 1. Formerly of Mount Kisco and Londonderry, NH, he was a resident of Sebastian, FL at the time of his death. He was a pilot for 30 years, flying for Mohawk Airlines, Allegheny Airlines, and US Airways. The son of Frederick Hackert and Dorothy Glasgow Hackert, Don was born in 1933 in the Bronx. Small Plane Hits Runway Light During Training Flight At Hudson Valley Regional Airport
A small plane struck a runway light at Hudson Valley Regional Airport during a training flight. The incident took place around 8:22 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the airport in Wappingers Falls, said the Capt. John Watterson with the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. According to Watterson, a flight instructor and a student pilot were in the small aircraft when the plane struck a short runway light. No one was injured and the plane was not damaged, Watterson said.

10th US Victim ID'd In Crash That Killed Five Members Of Westchester Family
The 10th American fatality in a crash that claimed the lives of 12, including all five members of a Westchester family on Sunday afternoon in northwestern Costa Rica has been identified. The final U.S. citizen killed was Amanda Geissler, a trip leader of the Backroads Active Travel Company, said company spokeswoman Liz Einbinder. Geissler, a Utah native, was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The 33-year-old Geissler had been working with Backroads since May.
