Woman Involved In Westchester Crash Drove Drunk With 9-Month-Old In Car, Police Say A woman was charged with felony DWI under Leandra's Law following a two-vehicle crash in Westchester. Sylvia Cortez, a 40-year-old resident of the Bronx, was arrested on Friday, June 19 by Village of Mamaroneck police following the crash which took place around 10:13 p.m. in the area of East Boston Post Road and North Barry Avenue. Upon interviewing Cortez, officers observed signs of alcohol intoxication and conducted a DWI investigation. Police: Drunk Driver Crashes Into Truck In Construction Zone In Mamaroneck A Fairfield County man was arrested for alleged DWI after crashing into the back of a construction vehicle in a work zone in Westchester.  Fabian Madera, age 43, of Shelton, was arrested around 10:20 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, after New York State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-95 in Mamaroneck, said Trooper Tara McCormick. A preliminary investigation revealed that Madera was driving a Toyota Camry northbound, approaching a lane closure in a work zone when he rear-ended a construction vehicle blocking the right lane, McCormick said. Man, 67, Busted For Felony DWI Following Single-Vehicle Crash In Westchester A 67-year-old man was arrested by state police for felony DWI following a single-vehicle crash in Westchester. Patrick R. Bridgewater, of the Bronx, was arrested around 7 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 21, in New Rochelle, said Trooper Tara McCormick. According to McCormick, the state police responded to a one-car property damage accident on I-95 in the city of New Rochelle. Intoxicated Man Rescued From Boat On Long Island Sound By Police Marine Unit A man who had allegedly had too much to drink was rescued from a boat on Long Island Sound. The incident took place off the north coast of Long Island around 10:27 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, in Oyster Bay. According to Nassau County Police, the department's boat Marine 6 and Helicopter 4 received a call for a medical emergency in the Long Island Sound approximately one mile north of Lloyd Harbor. Upon arrival, units discovered a man on a boat in and out of consciousness, apparently due to severe intoxication, police said.
