Pelham's Sennett Cooke Named to U.S. Dream Team

PELHAM, N.Y. – Pelham’s Sennett Cooke has been named to the United States Figure Skating DREAM program.

Cooke, a co-captain on the Junior line of the Skyliners, is one of six new members selected for the team from around the country. She will join the team for two seasons and will participate with its five existing members who will participate for another year.

Cooke has skated for the Skyliners for 11 years and her coach, Josh Bibb, could not be happier for her.

“I am extremely proud of Sennett and excited that she has been selected for DREAM,” Bibb said. “She is a great advocate for the sport.”

DREAM stands for “Determination, Responsibility, Education, Achievement, Motivation.” Members of the joint USFS program of the Synchronized Development Subcommittee and the Synchronized Skating Committee take part in activities to promote and support synchronized figure skating in the United States.

Potential future duties for Cooke include guest speaking or presenting at the 2012 U.S. Figure Skating Synchronized Training Festival and DREAM Camps, contributing articles and ideas to newsletters and magazines, supporting grassroots teams by speaking with young skaters and their parents and acting as a spokesperson to promote the sport.

Two former Skyliners, Audrey McQuade and Ashley Mulhern, are currently part of the DREAM program.
