Pet Dog Dies In Pelham Manor House Fire

PELHAM, N.Y. – A pet dog was reportedly killed Wednesday afternoon in a house fire in Pelham Manor, lohud reported.

There was nobody home when the fire began in the basement of a house at 1084 Washington Ave. around 4:45 p.m., the report said.

Firefighters from Pelham Manor and New Rochelle contained the fire in about an hour. Ambulance workers apparently tried to save the dog.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
