Pelham Police Warn Residents About Car Burglary Spree

PELHAM, N.Y. – A string of car burglaries in Pelham neighborhoods has prompted police to caution residents to always lock their cars, especially overnight.

Residents in the area west of 5th Avenue, north of Lincoln Avenue and near Chester Park have reported recent break-ins of cars parked in their driveways during the evening hours, according to police.

Items taken from cars include loose change and electronics as well as any other valuables that can be easily taken and sold, police said.

“It is important that all residents lock their cars and remove any and all valuables when parked overnight in their driveways or parked anywhere else overnight,” a notice from police said.
