NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Steve Szabo of New Rochelle died Oct. 8. He was 78.
Szabo was born in Budapest, Hungary and came to the United States in the 1960s. He settled in New Rochelle. He was a roofer and construction worker by trade, and was a member of Local Union #8. He was married to Joan Marie Nordone.
Szabo is survived by his daughter, Martha; stepchildren, Michael Zubini and Patricia Weiss; and five grandchildren.
A celebration of Szabo's life will be held Friday, Oct. 10 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 at St. Catharine's Church located at 25 Second Ave., Pelham, NY 10803.
