George Daly, 78, Former Pelham Business Owner

SOMERS, N.Y. – George A. Daly of Somers and formerly of Pelham died Oct. 28, He was 78.

He was born Dec. 14, 1933. Daly raised his family in Pelham and was the former owner of Carol Cleaners and Tailors in Pelham. He volunteered as a basketball coach for boys and girls at St. Catharine's School for many years.

A veteran of the Navy, Daly served as head butcher and cook aboard the USS Mississippi and the USS Roanoke.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine; two daughters, Linda (Gary) Schuldt and Lisa (Bob) DeLuca; five grandchildren and three brothers.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Pelham Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at St. Catharine's Church in Pelham.
