PELHAM MANOR, N.Y. – Emma Joan Glessmann, a longtime resident of Pelham Manor, died on Friday, Jan. 15. She was 85.
Glessman was born in 1930 in New York City to Joseph and Victoria Maggio.
Graduating from Hunter College with a master's degree in education, she was an elementary school teacher in both New York City and Pelham for more than 30 years.
She is survived by her son, James and brother, Louis Maggio.
Glessmann was predeceased by her husband, Louis.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 559 Pelham Manor Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Smile Train are welcomed.
