Claire Marie Troncone, 91, Longtime Pelham Resident

PELHAM, N.Y. -- Claire Marie Troncone died on Saturday, March 14 in Milford, Conn. She was 91.

Troncone was on born April 9, 1923, in Mount Vernon to Frank and  Pauline (Signorelli) Sattarelle.

Troncone graduated from A.B. Davis High School and after attending the Wood Secretarial School in Manhattan, worked for the Lily Tulip Cup Corp. In 1945 she married U.S. Marine Sgt. Arnold Anthony Troncone and after living in Mount Vernon until 1957, they moved to Pelham, N.Y. where they resided for 26 years.

Her husband was proprietor of The Wolf's Lane Produce Market in Pelham and later, the local store, Arnold's.

Claire worked in New Rochelle as an employment placement counselor for 10 years with Snelling & Snelling until she and Arnold relocated to Chalfont, Pa.

Her husband died in 1987 and she spent the next 13 years enjoying her home and an active life in her community known as Tower Hill with close friends and neighbors who shared activities and entertaining.

In 2000 she retired to the Pine Run Community and later to Heritage Towers, both in Doylestown, Pa.

An avid bridge player, skilled baker, gardener and sports enthusiast, she settled in Greenwich, Conn.. in 2008, participating in the life of Parsonage Cottage on Parsonage Road.

She was recently pre-deceased on March 10, 2015, by her only sibling, a sister, Genevieve Gontar.

Troncone is survived by a daughter, Pamela Kalt; a son, Jeffrey Troncone, abd his partner, Tammy Dalton, and granddaughter, Scarlett Raquel Troncone; her niece and goddaughter, Allison Kenton. She is also survived by Ann Marie Mele.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated in New York at a date to be determined and later, interment at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Doylestown, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that family and friends donate to the charity of their choice in Troncone's memory.
