School Budget Adoption Tops Pelham News This Week

PELHAM, N.Y. - In case you weren't able to check in with The Pelham Daily Voice every day, here are a few of the top stories from this week.

  • The Pelham Union Free School District adopted a $68.9 million budget, which would amount to a 6 percent tax rate increase. The tax levy, or the amount to be raised by taxes, shows a 3.25 percent hike. The increase remains below the state’s adjusted tax cap for the school district that ended up at 3.98 percent.
  • The Town of Pelham Library will be closed for a week next month while it is painted. All programs except for creative aging have been canceled while the library is closed from May 5 through 12. 
  • Westchester Democrats selected New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson to challenge Rob Astorino for county executive.
