The 2011 Relay For Life of Pelham NY has partnered with local discount store Five Below to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
Relay for Life of Pelham NY will host its main event, a campout and relay walk around the track at Glover Field, on Saturday, June 4 at 6 p.m. The event will continue until 6 a.m. the following morning.
The organization has already begun fundraising efforts prior to the June 4 campout. The group raised nearly $47,000 as of May 31. In total, 335 participants on 28 teams had already registered as of that same date.
Five Below, as the name implies, sells a variety of items at or below five dollars. These goods include footballs, basketballs, DVDs, arts and crafts supplies, party decorations, candy, lava lamps and even clothing.
The store which is located at the Pelham Manor Shopping Center on Pelham Parkway, will donate ten percent of all purchases at the Pelham Manor location to Relay For Life. The fundraiser began on May 29 and will end on June 4.
