Police: Trick Or Treaters Steal iPad from Pelham Home

PELHAM, N.Y. – A group of youths stole an iPad 2 from a girl at her home as she was distributing Halloween candy Monday night, police reports said.

The girl’s mother contacted Pelham police and told them that her daughter was near the front door in the foyer of their home watching a movie on the iPad 2. The device is valued at $600, according to police.

The police report said the girl was giving out candy to trick-or-treaters on Halloween and someone took the device from her seat when she turned around to get more candy. The mother and other adults were sitting at the kitchen table and her husband tried to chase after the alleged thieves.

Police described the possible suspects as young African-American males. Police said they searched the area but could not find the suspects.

The owner told police that the iPad 2 is equipped with a GPS device that will tell the owner where the device is used. Officers forwarded the case to the detective division.
