PELHAM, N.Y. Pelham residents can choose from Pelham Pizzeria and Ristorante, Marcello's Pizza Inc. and Luigi's Pizza on Fifth Avenue when they want a slice of pizza. Recent posts on the Daily Pelham's Facebook page revealed some residents' favorite pizzeria.
Nelly Mendez and Adrianna Arcuri Richter both praised Pelham Pizzeria and Ristorante.
"It's not only delicious, but always super fresh and the staff is super fun," Mendez said on Facebook.
Richter focused on the tradition of the pizzeria.
"Beyond being delicious, the place has history, and makes pizza in the true NY style," Richter said on Facebook.
John Gjoni picked Marcello's because of its style.
"I like Marcello's," Gjoni said on Facebook. "Has an old school flavor to it."
Jose Perez works at Marcello's and said that the pizzeria uses original recipes to make their pizza. He also said that Marcello's makes a delicious, fried treat with real dough instead of pizza dough.
"We got the best zeppoles in town," Perez said.
Grace Campo is a partner at Luigi's Pizza. She said the pizzeria's customer service, including free delivery, sets it apart from the others.
"We deliver. That's the biggest thing," Campo said. "And our prices are reasonable."
Campo said that Luigi's offers pasta and chicken dishes to vary the menu beyond just pizza.
