Pelham Manor Board Bans Post Road Parking Spaces

PELHAM MANOR, N.Y. – A Pelham Manor resident complained to the Board of Trustees last week about parking at the intersection of Boston Post Road and Wynnewood Road. The board addressed the concerns Monday night when it voted to ban parking at part of the intersection.

The board unanimously voted to amend part of the village code to prohibit parking in a 206-foot space at the intersection. The resident expressed concern in a letter that people could not see around the corner when they tried to turn right onto Boston Post Road from Wynnewood Road.

Pelham Manor police Chief Al Mosiello recommended that the village move the existing no parking sign farther away from the corner to remove two parking spaces. Village manager John Pierpont said the amendment is a rarity.

"I don't think we've done a traffic code amendment," Pierpont said. "It's the first one we've had."
