PELHAM, N.Y. The Pelham Metro-North Railroad station has served the area for more than 115 years. New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad built the Pelham Metro-North station in 1893.
The trains that stop at and pass through the station today carry thousands of riders to and from Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. The station sits about 15 miles from Grand Central and trains take just more than 30 minutes to travel there from Pelham.
Some local businesses and organizations have ties to the station. The Community Church of the Pelhams United Church of Christ offers parking at its lot for $110 per month.
The mother of Denise Amorelli, owner of M.A.D. Café, runs a breakfast stand at the station. Amorelli used to operate that business herself.
