PELHAM, N.Y. – The Village of Pelham declared a state of emergency as Hurricane Sandy approaches, the village said on its website Monday.
Village Hall will be closed Monday.
Residents with life-threatening emergencies are asked to call 911. Those with downed wires, tree branches, flooding or power outages should call Pelham Police at 914-738-2000, the village said.
Garbage pickup inquiries can be made by calling 1-877-428-5222.
All other non-emergency issues should be e-mailed to info@pelhamgov.com.
Residents are allowed to park on Sixth and Seventh avenues, north of Sixth Street, parts of Fourth Avenue and north of Lincoln Avenue during the storm, the village said.
Residents are asked to call Pelham Police at (914) 738-2000 if they must move their car to a safer area.
Town residents needing shelter can use the Daronco Townhouse at 20 Fifth Ave.
Residents can also report power outages to Con Edison at (800) 752-6633.
