PELHAM MANOR, N.Y. Two men who allegedly smoked marijuana laced with PCP caused a car accident on Boston Post Road at the Hutchinson River Parkway junction Thursday night.
The female driver of a gray 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee told Pelham Manor police she was driving westbound on Boston Post Road in the left lane when she saw a gray Toyota Camry heading northbound on the parkway through a steady red light onto Boston Post Road.
The car hit her, causing her Jeep to spin and flip over several times before it came to rest facing north under the Hutchinson River Parkway overpass. The Toyota went northbound after the impact, spun around and stopped facing south on the northbound Hutchinson River Parkway entrance ramp.
Two witnesses confirmed the woman's account of the story.
Police saw that 30-year-old Christopher Leshommes of 635 Castle Hill Ave. in the Bronx and 25-year-old Shaquan Seth of 922 E. 169 St. in the Bronx had glassy eyes and slurred their speech. Leshommes could not stand without assistance, according to the police report.
Two other passengers in the Camry said the suspects had allegedly smoked marijuana laced with PCP. Police then arrested Leshommes and Seth.
Officers searched the area near the car and found two plastic bags with what they believed to be PCP-laced marijuana and one with residue.
The female driver of the Jeep was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center. Police took the suspects to Mount Vernon Hospital.
Leshommes willingly agreed to give blood for analysis after officers issued a Miranda warning at 12:24 a.m. Friday.
Police charged the two with criminal possession of a controlled substance, operating a motor vehicle while impaired and passing a red light. The men were arraigned Friday morning at 9 a.m. and taken to the Westchester County Department of Correction in Valhalla.
