Blood Testing for Lead Thursday Afternoon

PELHAM, N.Y. – New York State Senator Jeff Klein will host a free blood screening event on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. The event will take place in a van in front of 21 Fifth Avenue.

The screenings, which are for all ages, will be to test for lead. They will be completed by Medalliance Medical Health Services and Affinity Health Plan. The screening will take about 15 to 20 minutes and a doctor's appointment will be scheduled if a person has dangerous levels of lead in their blood.

While even a short exposure to lead paint can produce various potential health risks, it is rare for an infected person to display any symptoms.

You can RSVP by calling 718-822-2049 or walk right up.
