BJ's Employee Allegedly Uses Coupons to Steal

PELHAM MANOR, N.Y. – A BJ's Wholesale employee stormed out of the store on Friday afternoon after an investigator caught him using coupons to keep money for himself.

The employee used saved store coupons and scanned them for the opportunity to keep the money when a customer purchased an item.

He completed 60 transactions of that sort for a total of $623.

The store investigator asked him to come into his office to discuss the issue of theft. Before the investigator could even speak, the employee became visibly shaky and nervous, according to the police report.

He yelled out that he quit and walked out of the store with his employee vest and name badge.

Pelham Manor police were called after the incident. The store investigator filled out an owner's deposition and a copy of the video of the theft was to be given to the detective division.
