New Italian Eatery Heats Up Westchester, Takes Over Empty Restaurant Space

Craving the taste of Southern Italy? An all-new restaurant in Westchester has got you covered.

Italian Oven, located in Yonkers at the Boyce Thompson Center at 1086 North Broadway, is open for business and recently held its grand opening ceremony.

The eatery, which took over the space formerly occupied by Fortina and is operated by a brother and sister team, features a menu full of Italian favorites like homemade meatballs, tortellini, grilled chicken and veggie paninis, and pastas like fettuccine alfredo and linguini shrimp scampi.

Of course, the menu is also chock full of pizza options like the Ortolana, which is topped with zucchini, fresh mozzarella, eggplant, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, cream, parmesan, and fresh parsley; Pietro's Pick, with shredded mozzarella, sausage, provolone, cherry peppers, and broccoli rabe; and the Pesto, with pine nits, basil pesto, and fresh mozzarella.

After the main course, visitors can also indulge their sweet tooth with desserts like cannoli, homemade tiramisu, chocolate lava cake, and nutella pizza.

The menu also includes plenty of wine, beer, and cocktail options like the "Miss Italia-tini" and "When Life Gives You Lemons..."

In a post on social media on Thursday, March 14, Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano highlighted the new restaurant:

"The restaurant serves pizza and pasta dishes from Southern Italy. Best of Luck and thank you for choosing Yonkers," the mayor wrote.
