"You Know You're From Pelham When..."

PELHAM, N.Y. – The Daily Pelham's readers responded on the news site's Facebook page to complete the sentence, "You know you're from Pelham, when..."

Reader Nelly Mendez wrote, "You hop on Metro North and arrive in Grand Central in 30 minutes!"

Michael Shriman completed the sentence with, "When you pay the highest taxes around." The comment drew a like from Mendez.

Adrianna Arcuri Richter expressed her pride in Pelham when she wrote, "You proudly claim our high school mascot is a Pelican."

A group on Facebook called "You know you're from Pelham when...." has drawn comments from those with ties to the area. Noelle Whiting Gold completed the sentence on Oct. 19, 2010 with, "You used to just give the last four digits of your phone number," a reference to the fact that many phone numbers in Pelham begin with 738.
