Pelham Fathers Grateful on Their Holiday

PELHAM, N.Y. – While many Pelham and Pelham Manor fathers celebrated their special day with their children, some were  working and looking forward to seeing their kids when they got home.

Depot Market co-owners and executive chefs Dave Katz and Mike Grund have two and three kids, respectively. They were catering a barbecue Sunday, but took time to describe the joys of fatherhood to The Pelham Daily Voice.

“The best part is everything,” said Grund, who has triplet 4-year-old sons. “You’re home, kids are running to you to say hello, and you’re proud of your kids and their accomplishments at any age. It’s just awesome. They’re you.”

When Grund looks at his kids, “everything goes away,” he said.

Katz echoed similar sentiments, saying, “nothing else matters” when he goes home after work and sees his 7-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son. “Every day is Father’s Day – happy and healthy kids, every day is Father’s Day. I don’t need a special day.”
