On Saturday, March 9, the New York Botanical Garden ballroom will be transformed into a pop art world, just for the night.

“Warhol is resurfacing this year as a very hot topic. There are exhibitions coming up everywhere, and there seems to be a fascination with that time again,” says Lynn Honeysett, executive director of the Pelham Art Center. “It’s fun, it’s arty and it was an extremely interesting dynamic time as far as art history is concerned. ”

The Factory was the name of Andy Warhol’s New York City studio, which became famous for its psychedelic parties frequented by 1960s and 1970s artists and musicians.

The event is co-chaired by Pelham Art Center Board Chair Annette Candido and Board President Jill Orlando. It will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. The attire is rock chic. The renowned Abigail Kirsch will cater the gourmet sit-down dinner.

Guests will dance to the sounds from the Factory heydays and now, from national DJ Artist Adam Foster. They can bid for art, luxury items and experiences such as two seats for the Beyonce World Tour in August at the new Barclay Center in Brooklyn plus transportation; tickets to the Bravo show “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen; and pop art eye-poppers. Artist Karyn Mannix, owner of the Karyn Mannix Contemporary Gallery in East Hampton, will contribute her oil painting of Marilyn Monroe, and a Marilyn mixed media piece made of candy wrappers by Laura Benjamin, will be a live auction item.

Seating is limited. Reservations can be made on the website or by calling 914-738-2525, Ext. 111. Ticket prices begin at $195. For more information, email springbenefit@pelhamartcenter.org or call 914-738-2525, Ext. 111.

The Spring Benefit is Pelham Art Center’s major fundraiser and benefits art programs serving more than 16,000 adults and children in Westchester County and parts of the Bronx with high quality free public art programs, exhibitions and events as well as a wide range of affordable art classes for children, youth and adults.
