Music & Movies Month is to feature anniversary screenings as well as new releases that will bring music to life on the big screen, according to a statement from The Picture House.
“Music taps into people in a visceral way,” said Laura deBuys, president and executive director of The Picture House. “Our new Music & Movies series combines the unique energy of a live concert with the shared experience of watching a movie. Our state-of-the-art sound, huge screen, and community setting make The Picture House the perfect place to enjoy some of your favorite music.”
Scheduled screenings include:
- 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 – “The Beatles; Eight Days a Week,” a documentary by director Ron Howard
- 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7 –“Stop Making Sense,” a live film performance from The Talking Heads
- 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 – “The Beatles; Eight Days a Week”
- 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 – A 25th anniversary celebration of “The Commitments”
- 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov.15 – “Mumford & Sons; Live from South Africa: Dust and Thunder”
- 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 – “Mumford & Sons; Live from South Africa: Dust and Thunder”
- 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21 – A 40th anniversary celebration of “The Last Waltz”
- 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25 – “Mumford & Sons; Live from South Africa: Dust and Thunder”
- 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28 – Pink Floyd’s “The Wall”
All Music & Movies Month screenings are to take place in The Picture House’s Main Hall.
Tickets cost $10 - $12 for the general public and $8 for students and seniors. For members of The Picture House, a special All Access pass will offer one ticket to each showing with free popcorn at a total cost of $50.
