Carnival Trailer Catches Fire, Snarls Traffic On I-87 In NY (Update) A carnival trailer fire temporarily blocked lanes and caused traffic to back up on the New York Thruway in Rockland County.  The blaze happened on Monday, June 30, around noon on Interstate 87 northbound in Monsey just after the Spring Valley toll barrier, according to 511NY traffic reports.  According to New York State Police, a 2017 Volvo tractor-trailer had been traveling in the right lane when the carnival trailer caught fire on the right shoulder after its brakes overheated.  The truck then detached the trailer to avoid being damaged. Lanes Reopen After Crash On NY Thruway In Hudson Valley (Developing) A crash on I-87 in the Hudson Valley blocked multiple lanes for hours on Monday, Jan. 27. The incident happened in Rockland County on Monday, Jan. 27 at around 11:05 a.m. on I-87 South in Ramapo, according to 511NY.  The crash temporarily left the left and center southbound lanes blocked and caused stop-and-go traffic in the area. 4-Car Crash Blocks Lane Of I-87 In Westchester, Causes Traffic A crash temporarily blocked a lane of Interstate 87 in Westchester and slowed northbound traffic. The incident happened on Friday, Dec. 13 around 3:40 p.m. on I-87 North just after Exit 8/8A in Tarrytown, according to New York State Police. Troopers said four vehicles were involved in the collision and one person suffered minor injuries. The crash blocked the northbound left lane until around 4:30 p.m., causing a five-mile backup on I-287 East that worsened Friday rush-hour traffic.
